Should you encounter fire, medical attention, or rescue needs, please calling 119.

The Itoshima City Fire Department launched a multilingual simultaneous interpretation service.

You are not required to speak Japanese, as you have a choice to use the English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish and Portuguese language interpretation services.

How to request an ambulance / Fire engine

Please dial 119 first.(Calls to 119 are Free.)

Please mention your native language, otherwise English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, and Portuguese.

When your call is put on hold, you will hear a sound recording, please standby and do not hang up.

 Once connected to the interpreter operator, notify the destination of the fire truck, or ambulance, and describe the situation of the incident in your native language, or select from the language choices in English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, or Portuguese. All you need is to answer some questions.

Some tips for calling an ambulance / fire engine

When calling 119, first, tell the operator whether a fire truck or ambulance is required, followed by reporting the address or location.

  • Once, we find out whether a fire truck or ambulance is needed, the unit will be dispatched immediately to the location.
  • If you cannot provide the address, please identify the name of the street intersection, stores, parks or other landmarks. 
  • If you can people on site,send them out to the place where the ambulance is due to arrive.This will help the ambulance crew reach you more quickly.
  • Please ask them to help you call if there are people who speak japanese around you.
